This high-risk work course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to operate a forklift safely and effectively in warehouses, ports and construction sites.
Delivered under COP-LF-TL, it covers pre-operational checks, load assessment, stability, and safe travel and stacking.
This course is delivered by LicensingTL.
Course duration
The course is delivered over 5 training and assessment days and includes a blend of theory, practice and practical assessment.
Course topics
- Plan and prepare for forklift operations
- Conduct pre-start and shutdown inspections
- Assess load weight, centre of gravity and stability
- Operate, travel and manoeuvre in a work environment
- Stack and de-stack loads on ramps and uneven ground
- Conduct housekeeping activities
Course outcome
On successful completion you will be assessed as competent and made eligible for the LF: forklift licence (HRWLF001), valid for three years.
Entry requirements
- Age: Minimum 18 years of age
- Average reading and writing skills
- Have the necessary health and fitness to carry out the work safely, proven by a Medical Certificate, Medical Clearance Request form (LTL-MED-F01)
